This applies even if you zoom in and use exactly the same start and end points. Temporary solution: This is caused by the rounding of the reported numbers in the manually integrated peaks. The error is particularly noticeable when there is a very large solvent reported in scientific notation. Workaround is NOT to include the solvent in the calculation . Example 1. Sequence that will recalibrate after every 3 sample injections and uses 3 calibration vials (same standard, level 1): Vial Name Type Method Inj. Level Interval 1 Cal1a Calib A 1 1 3 2 Cal1b Calib A 1 1 3 3 Cal1c Calib A 1 1 3 10 Sample1 Sample A 6 11 Sample2 Sample A 6 12 Sample3 Sample A 6 Result: For the recalibrations, the sequence will use Cal1a, then Cal1b, then Cal1c and then switch back to Cal1a etc. It is important to define the calibration lines as vial range (adjacent sequence lines referencing adjacent vial positions). Example 2: Sequence that will perform bracketing and uses a different calibration vial for the opening bracket and the closing bracket: Vial Name Type Method Inj. Level Interval 1 Cal1a Calib A 1 1 1 Bracket 2 Cal1b Calib A 1 1 1 Bracket 3 Cal1c Calib A 1 1 1 Bracket 4 Cal1d Calib A 1 1 1 Bracket 10 Sample1 Sample A 1 11 Sample2 Sample A 1 12 Sample3 Sample A 1 Note: Make sure there are enough calibration vials, so the sequence does not jump back to the first calibration vial (see example 1). Problem: Under the following conditions it has been observed on one system that a method downloads to the GC during an existing run. 1. System must be a 5890 with a 7673 controller and injector(s). 2. Different methods must be loaded in a sequence. 3. One of the methods must have many setpoints to increase temperatures and flows which will occupy almost all of the GC micro-processor time at the start of the run. 4. The same method which has all of the setpoints must have no vials selected (blank run) which means there is no autosampler delay. Under these conditions, the GC is delayed from sending the "start" back to the software and synchronization is lost, resulting in the next method being downloaded in error. Temporary solution: Depending on the circumstances, try the following. 1. Make an injection using a solvent which passes through the column quickly. The autosampler gives an artificial delay moving the vials. 2. Program the zones, oven and flows/pressures to start at 0.1 minute.
